Central Coast Indigenous Resource Alliance is seeking an independent contractor to provide Marine Shipping and Response Coordination (maternity leave coverage).

The contractor will support Central Coast Nations in advancing priority marine shipping and response initiatives under the Oceans Reconciliation Framework Agreement (ORFA), with a focus on strengthening collaborative governance, advancing Nation-led priorities, and supporting effective decision-making across various processes.

Announcement of the Mia-yaltwa Ha’lidzogm hoon NMCAR and IPCA

Congratulations to the Wuikinuxv, Nuxalk, Kitasoo Xai’xais, Heiltsuk, Gitxaała, and Gitga’at First Nations, and the Governments of Canada and British Columbia on the signing of the establishment agreement for the Mia-yaltwa Ha’lidzogm hoon National Marine Conservation Area Reserve and Indigenous Protected and Conserved Area!

This milestone reflects many years of collaborative marine planning, including the development of the Central Coast and North Coast MaPP Marine Plans and the Great Bear Sea MPA Network Action Plan. This agreement marks a big step forward in achieving our shared goals for the protection of this special area.
